The Apprenticeshop launches lives through experiential education in sailing and boatbuilding…

Rockland Community Sailing (RCS) for youth builds courage, self-confidence and leadership through seamanship. RCS offers a variety of programs, from 1-2 week summer sailing camps, to afterschool sailing lessons and a competitive high school team. In a community where 50% of public school students qualify as “at risk” and where a long seafaring heritage exists, The Apprenticeshop provides full scholarship for any youth in need, thanks to donors like you.

In the boatbuilding shop, students learn in programs lasting anywhere from 2-days to 2-years, challenging themselves through the craft of traditional wooden boatbuilding. Patience, problem-solving skills and self-reliance arise through the discipline of acquiring craftsmanship. Known throughout the world for our 2-year apprenticeship, The Apprenticeshop has been launching lives and traditional wooden boats for 40 years.
